Teams deserve praise

1 min read

Our congratulations go out to Carmichaels High School’s Envirothon teams for winning the 26th annual Greene County Envirothon earlier this month at Ryerson Station State Park in Wind Ridge.

The school won first, second and third place honors. There were 59 students from the county’s five school districts competing, and “sweeping” the event is a remarkable achievement.

Teams tested their environmental knowledge in the areas of soil, forestry, wildlife, aquatics, grazing lands and pasture management. Of course, a winning team needs a good coach, and we don’t think there is one better than Kevin Willis, the team adviser.

We will be watching eagerly for the results of the state competition May 21 and 22 at Juniata College in Huntingdon.
