Supinski deserves thanks
I am a former WKZV disc jockey. It is a sad thing that owner Helen Supinski had to close the station. After the deaths of her two partners, her husband, Stanley, and Mike Panjuscek, she ran the station for several years by herself. Believing she was doing a community service by staying on the air, she continued to operate despite continually increasing costs.
A recent outage would have required a large input of funds to repair, plus there were very expensive government-mandated repairs to the antennas that were pending, so Supinski decided to close down the station. It was a very difficult decision for her. Supinski deserves the thanks of our community for continuing to operate as long as she did.
