The young must respect their elders
Kudos to Tom Flickinger for his Oct. 21 letter on not wanting to be called “honey” by young people working at fast food restaurants.
I don’t like it either, but maybe, in their minds, they are just being nice or respectful. Then we go to the other end of the spectrum, where some young people have no respect for their elders. I believe it’s how they are raised. Not in our house. Our children knew they had better respect their elders and they did. Our grandson is being raised the same way.
If young people don’t respect their elders, they respect no one.
