Attorney ads are extravagant hype

1 min read

Almost all professionals, such as physicians, engineers and certified public accountants, issue advertisements related to their field of expertise without hype or claims of superiority.

One exception exists – attorneys.

What regulatory body, if any, exists that conducts a review, under defined standards, and allows attorneys to utilize such terms as “super,” “excellent,” or “fighter.” Is it within professional standards for an attorney to present a TV ad depicting his or her abilities while spinning as a whirlwind of power for you?

If no regulatory body or standards exist for attorneys’ advertisements, my conclusion is that the utilization of such terminology is extravagant hype and has nothing to do with professional standards.
