Make car seats that work
This week is National Child Passenger Safety Week. Last year, 80 percent of the child safety seats the Pennsylvania State Police checked were improperly installed. On Friday, in Washington County, a child, secured in a safety seat, died in a car accident. Why is there no public outcry demanding that the car safety seat makers make a product, that we are required by law to use, that actually works?
I can think of no other consumer product that is misused by 80 percent of purchasers. Would you buy a fire extinguisher that 80 percent of purchasers couldn’t use properly? This is completely unacceptable. Is there really no one in America who can invent a car safety seat that parents can use properly?
