Whatever happened to compassionate conservatism?
“Here Comes Honey Boo Boo” won’t be the top reality show much longer. Sooner or later, some enterprising television producer will start a reality show titled “Conservatives Acting Badly.”
The party seem to have an embarrassment of riches when it comes to idiotic serial behavior by its members. In only a few short months, we’ve had talk of “legitimate rape” and “47 percent” of lazy layabouts who mooch off the people who make things and even pregnancy resulting from rape still being a gift from God and not reason enough for abortion.
Not to be outdone, former Arkansas Gov. Mike Huckabee has written a prescription for high-libido women who can’t control their raging hormones, but even a spoonful of “Uncle Sugar” can’t help that medicine go down. Now, to top it off, we have pugnacious ex-Marine Michael Grimm, a Republican representative from New York, who decided a reporter had asked the wrong question and threatened to “break him in half” if he ever asked him a question like that again.
