Thanks to Observer-Reporter staff writer Emily Petsko for her informative and moving Feb. 20 article about the poor, neglected pets that were rescued during our brutal winter weather.

First, I read the article; then, I cried. Next, I opened my checkbook.

I am thankful that we have caring organizations to help our four-legged friends. I have two rescue dogs that are integral members of our family, which makes me even more grateful for these organizations.
