Steelers, Polamalu get votes, but no penalties
The officiating always has been crooked in Steelers games. It has always favored the Steelers. The NFL said the officials made three wrong calls in the Steelers-Seattle Super Bowl. In my opinion, they were crooked calls, not wrong calls. They gave the Steelers that Super Bowl.
Then they threw three flags in the Steelers-Arizona Super Bowl on James Harrison’s interception return for a touchdown. Troy Polamalu was offside and blocked a guy in the back along with a hold by a Steelers player that wasn’t called. It was a Super Bowl record, so they refs picked up the flags, giving the Steelers another Super Bowl they shouldn’t have won.
I am sick of seeing Antonio Brown’s punt return for a touchdown. It shouldn’t have counted after the Cincinnati punter had his jaw and vertebrae broken. No flag was thrown. The Steelers also once put Kerry Collins out for five weeks with a helmet-to-helmet hit. Again, no flag.
Polamalu makes about one play every four games. He’s the most overrated player ever. Polamalu can’t cover anyone deep. He’s a safety? He gives up a lot of big plays. He guesses wrong almost all the time on the blitz.
The Pro Bowl voting is a joke. You can vote 25 times. They should put all the statistics in the computer and let it pick the teams. All of the Pro Bowl and Defensive Player of the Year awards should not be done by voting. For Polamalu, this is a popularity contest. Put the statistics into a computer and stop listening to the biased media. Watch all the safeties and you’ll see Polamalu doesn’t do nearly as much as the other safeties and doesn’t deserve to be in the Pro Bowl. What’s he do in a big game against a good team with a good quarterback and receivers? He gets burned.
If Polamalu played anywhere else but Pittsburgh the fans and media would be sick of hearing about him. He is never penalized. He’s just an average player who is slowing down the defense. Last year, the defense played great without him. He’s a big reason why the Steelers had eight losses this year and the fans in Pittsburgh are just too dumb to see it.
