Newspaper should look at elderly, caregivers

1 min read

I appreciated the in-depth coverage and reporting the newspaper provided on the situation facing the homeless population. The Observer-Reporter is to be commended for this series.

The newspaper’s next project should be the plight of the elderly and the children caring for them. I experienced this several years ago. It is complicated and difficult to say the least. It is one of the saddest situations facing many people today and I believe it deserves in-depth coverage and reporting so that people will understand just how difficult it really is.

The most painful situation is being pulled between raising your child and your family needs versus those of your parents. It pulls you apart. And I do not feel anyone who has not experienced this has a clue just how devastating it is.
