A good showing for Carmichaels

1 min read

Carmichaels High School’s Envirothon team finished third in the state competition May 20 and 21 at Susquehanna University, 12 points behind the winning team from Delaware County’s Penncrest High School.

Third place is quite an achievement. High school students from 64 Pennsylvania counties participated in the event and, of course, Carmichaels represented Greene County in the competition.

This is the ninth year in a row a Carmichaels team placed in the top 10. The team’s best showing was second, in both 2006 and 2010.

We take our hats off to Kevin Willis, the longtime team coach. He always seems to get his teams ready for the big events.

That first-place title still awaits and 2015 could just be the year.
