How about some variety?

1 min read

Taco Bell apparently is coming to Greene County, and once developers meet a set of conditions set down by the Franklin Township planning commission, the eatery should be up and running this summer.

The restaurant will be located in Greene Plaza, along with Wendy’s, Dairy Queen and Kentucky Fried Chicken, making the plaza and part of Route 21 leading to it, the county’s fast-food mecca.

It is hard to be critical when a business chooses to locate in the county because any business, large or small, translates into jobs.

It seems to us the food service industry is becoming the cornerstone for economic development in Greene County, and if that’s the case, we would like to see a wider range of eating establishments. The airport development and the available land at the Walmart site would be ideal for an Olive Garden, Applebee’s or a TGI Fridays.

Every community needs to have its drive-thru fast food choices, but a little variety would be appreciated.
