Chartiers residents have been sold out
Increase the millage rate by 10.725 mills in Chartiers Township? With two gas processing plants and their own rail line, the township should be paying us out of MarkWest tax receipts.
Why else would the township have rolled out the red carpet for the gas industry, actually loosening the requirements of Act 13 by changing words such as “building” to dwelling” for a 300-foot offset? It couldn’t have been to increase property values or encourage residential development.
It appears we are the people the CEO of Exxon Mobil had in mind to live close to drilling operations. I feel like the residents of Chartiers Township have been sold out. I just don’t understand why.
