Treaty will lower wages, living standards

1 min read

The real purpose of the president’s Asian trip was to promote the Trans-Pacific Partnership, another free-trade treaty that will supersede our Constitution.

The Chinese military is the Frankenstein of free trade. The People’s Liberation Army was financed by profits derived from China’s most-favored-nation status. To counter this threat, we are going to engage in an economic war of attrition. This free trade treaty will exacerbate trade imbalances, inflation, higher taxes and unemployment. These results have been worsening ever since the North American Free Trade Agreement (NAFTA), the General Agreement on Tariffs and Trade (GATT), the Central American Free Trade Agreement (CAFTA) and other free trade treaties.

But our AFL-CIO-endorsed, “friend of the working man” president has finally achieved bipartisanship since many Republicans also endorse this economic debacle. As if the Environmental Protection Agency has not done enough damage to union mills, mines and factories. You cannot compete with countries with low wages, low taxes and few, if any, onerous environmental, health and safety standards. Only the investors and campaign contributors will profit while our jobs, wages and living standards plummet.
