Not endorsing was a disservice
Every day you have one or two pages filled with opinions from the editorial board and other opinion columnists from around the world. Every single day. Yet when it comes to two critical elections in our area this year, that of the 46th Senatorial District race between Tim Solobay and Camera Bartolotta, and that of the 46th Legislative District race between Jesse White and Jason Ortitay, you shockingly offered no opinions.
Worse yet, you decided to educate us with some information worthy of a game show by stating that in several countries and Nevada, voters can select “None of the Above.” This is an incredible disservice to your readers and the entire county for that matter. You get more time than any voter to sit down and question candidates, and yet you can’t make a decision between two people? That is incredibly lame. As voters, we have to pick who best to serve us, and most often we only get two choices.
If you want to rail against the electoral process here in the United States, go right ahead with another opinion piece. But if you can’t give an opinion when it counts, especially for local election races, then I suggest you scrap your opinion pages entirely.
