Consol needs to walk the walk
In August, the Observer-Reporter reported about a Consol Energy-sponsored service project at Ryerson Station State Park for Waynesburg University students. Consol boasted about the importance of environmental management and practicing responsible use of the land, water, and air in their operational areas.
I have one question: What happened to that priority with Duke Lake and the headwater streams in the park?
I am really curious to how the company explained the dry lake bed. Consol definitely is talking the talk, but they need to start walking the walk. If they really believe that protecting our land, water, and air is a priority, then they would not be pushing so hard to get permits to destroy the water resources that are left within the park.
