Get back to educational basics

1 min read

In this day of high-tech teaching aids and all the gadgetry and distractions one can imagine, maybe we need to look to a simpler idea that would help us crawl out of the educational abyss.

We, as a responsible nation, need to ask why we aren’t even in the top 20 nations in the world when it comes to educational ranking. There should be accountability. Teachers and school administrators should be tested for proficiency each and every year. Teachers who can produce high level students should be rewarded for their excellence. Ridiculous pension programs should be dealt a mighty blow as well.

This is a situation that really needs to be addressed. Money doesn’t fix this problem. Accountability, hard work, and people demanding a better education for the generations to come might be a good starting point. Basic education is the answer, not gadgets.
