Kids need to learn respect

I recently attended a nice holiday program at a local elementary school. The kids did great. It was very crowded and many people had to stand. There were no less than 25 women standing, seven with infants in their arms, while at least 75 men were comfortably seated.

When did mothers cease teaching their sons to given up their seats for a lady? Mine taught me that in the 1940s, when she had me give up my seat on a streetcar for a lady without one.

Maybe getting boys involved in scouting that would be a way for them to learn to respect others. This country that I love and have sworn to protect needs to learn respect.
