Fight the Marcellus Shale invasion
We all in Western Pennsylvania realize how dangerous Marcellus Shale drilling is and how it’s of no benefit to the vast majority of the people who live here.
Our rural lives have been turned upside down by the mass invasion of tanker trucks and sand slurry trucks from other states, being driven by people from other states, hauling water in and poison out 24 hours a day, seven days a week. They are stealing our way of life from us for the benefit of the wealthy gas companies and wealthy stockholders.
I have three questions:
1) Where are these hundreds of trucks getting this water from and why aren’t they paying for every gallon they take, just like the rest of us who get a water bill every month?
2) Why don’t our representatives implement an immediate 10 percent extraction tax?
3) Why are we not doing anything about this, besides shrugging and saying, “What can we do?” This is just not like Pennsylvanians to roll over and play dead .
This whole invasion was well-orchestrated, and it’s time we stand up and right the injustice being done to us.
