Little Lake does exceptional work
Once again last Sunday evening, we witnessed an amazing play with Little Lake Theater’s presentation of “The Best of Everything.” As usual, the performers were exceptional, but the performance June 14 was quite different. About 10 or 15 minutes into the performance, the power went out. With nothing but a brief pause, the actors continued the rest of the play, aided only by emergency lighting, a couple of flashlights and cell phone lights to aid them. They never missed a beat, even improvising by singing their own musical accompaniment when necessary. That they were able to persevere with little lighting and no musical or special sound effects and still provide a riveting performance is really something special to appreciate, and we did.
It never ceases to amaze that this sterling theater in the round is able to recruit such exceptional talent – actors who are, almost to a person, volunteers. Anyone who hasn’t taken the opportunity to visit this wonderful local theater is missing out on the best entertainment venue in the region, and a great value to boot. In my experience, the plays presented at Little Lake are every bit as good as, and in some cases better, than those presented on Broadway.
So don’t put it off any longer. Get out to Little Lake for a really enjoyable evening of superb entertainment.
