Resurface Washington Park roads
I totally agree with Jordan Schrader’s letter in the June 14 edition of the Observer-Reporter about the roads in Washington Park.
Their condition is deplorable, especially the ones leading to the ballparks. I coached youth baseball several years ago, and they were bad then. I’ve seen money put into other areas of the park for cosmetic purposes, but the roads have basically been neglected.
Washington is the home of Pony League Baseball, and the Pony League World Series is held here every year. If for no other reason, pride should motivate Washington City Council to improve the appearance of the roads, since the park hosts teams from around the world for this event.
Patching is like putting a Band-Aid on the problem. I think they should be resurfaced completely.
