South Carolina shooting no shock
Considering America’s racist history, how can anyone be surprised a white man massacred nine black people in South Carolina? This society has produced slave-owning presidents, lynch mobs, Klansmen, Nazis, skinheads, church bombers, assassins of civil rights leaders, shooters at schools, workplaces, malls, movie theaters and, now, a church. The baby-faced sociopath accused of the crime is another spawn of America’s terroristic past. I’m not shocked.
Now what? Metal detectors in church to prevent copycat attacks? SWAT snipers in the rafters? Ministers wearing bodycams to record who in the flock is shooting? It’s safer to be an atheist.
Dylann Roof is a lone wolf, but he is not alone. Racism is alive and well.
