What goes around, comes around
There is something I would like to say to the many supporters of Donald Trump, who seem to be as thin-skinned on his behalf as he is on his own.
Remember all the very unpleasant things that have been said about, and to, President Obama all these years? Remember when Obama was trying to get the country back onto a good footing after the 2008 financial crisis, and the general stance of Republicans in the House and Senate was “obstruct at all costs,” making it so much more difficult for all concerned? But here we are, out of the Great Recession. Obama never lost his cool, and calmly dealt with it all.
I have seen and heard so many truly ugly things said about Obama, and about Hillary Clinton, that it amazes me that the purveyors of these things apparently have no idea that someday what went around would come around to their favored candidate.
Well, it will. With a whole lot more justification. And as Trump jettisons the positions his supporters loved while he was campaigning, and when it becomes unavoidably obvious that he will have conflicts of interest that dwarf anything that has ever come before, enjoy your choice.
Be careful what you ask for. It may have unintended consequences.
