Is there truly as much discord between the races as the media and politicians would have us believe, with their dramatic headlines and greatly edited stories?

There will always be “wars and rumors of wars,” but most people are not only tolerant, but also intrigued by people of diverse ethnic backgrounds. We love their music, their food, their celebrations, their language, their ideas.

And although most of us want to relax, get comfortable and settle into the “old shoe” of familiarity and predictability, we still care about others.

There really is only one race – the human race.
