Kick them all out

Such a surprise to hear that Social Security recipients will be given an annual cost-of-living adjustment of only 0.2 percent in 2017. Wow! Can the federal government afford this?

People have paid into this fund for years. This was meant to supplement our old age, but the federal government has seen fit to spend the money on other things. The additional $2 or $2.50 for someone who gets a $1,000 monthly check will not buy a gallon of milk or a gallon of gas. Inflation shows up in rents, utilities, food, clothes, Medicare and everything else we have to pay for to live.

I imagine Congress will give itself a nice raise even though most of them do not deserve it. They have the best health coverage, large salaries, many holidays and vacations, which we pay for.

Kick them out, including our worthless president, Barack Obama, along with House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi and Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid, just for starters. Many more should follow from both parties.
