Set limits on charities
I cannot give enough thanks to armed service personnel for their time and energy devoted to our country. One way to give thanks is by contributing to a charity that benefits wounded veterans and helps with their recovery.
Unfortunately, there are selfish individuals willing to misuse contributions for their own benefit. CBS-TV recently reported lavish spending on staff meetings by the Wounded Warrior Project. Unfortunately, the regulations are loose and managers can set their own salaries and spend lavishly on items wrongly classified as business expenses. Limits need to be set as to what percentage of a charity’s income can be used for meetings and salaries.
