Trump is a hypocrite
As a third generation Beaver County steel worker who grew up in Monaca, and a proud member of the United Steelworkers, I find Donald Trump’s hollow promises of reviving America’s steel mills offensive and patronizing.
When Trump had the opportunity to create jobs by using American-made steel in his massive construction projectsm, including Trump Tower, he thumbed his nose at us and bought cheap, inferior steel made in China.
This man reeks of hypocrisy. Imagine Trump, who cynically calls for building a wall to keep workers out of America, coming to Ambridge to perpetuate his con game. Ambridge derives its name from the American Bridge Company, home of the workers who built America’s bridges for decades. The symbolism could not be more stark. A phony who talks of building walls to keep people out coming to a community that built the bridges in America that bring people together.
Trump’s next book should be called “The Art of the Steal,” chronicling how he made millions by stealing jobs from American workers, producing Trump-branded products in countries where he exploits low wage workers and buying the steel and aluminum he puts into his buildings from China.
I’m not taking my chances with a rookie “apprentice.” I’m lending my support to Hillary Clinton, a lifelong “activist”, who doesn’t support building walls, but who would be proud to use nothing but American steel to build everything, including bridgesm, to unite, not divide our communities.
