The pregnant elephant in the gym
Thanks for noting in your Mar. 31 editorial about the loss of Trinity High School’s girls basketball team to Archbishop Wood in the 5-A final that “there were the private and parochial schools, which draw athletes from wider regions than public schools.”
That’s the pregnant elephant in the gym and on the playing fields. I have a possible solution. Restrict the private and parochial schools to only three counties surrounding their county; allow public schools to have one county. This might allow a public school to attain one or two more championships in the PIAA.
