LETTER Some thoughts on tax reform
As the nation ponders the new tax law being presented to our representatives in Washington, D.C., I would like to present a few random thoughts of my own.
Will the tax law really result in our paying lower taxes? Will corporations and the rich use their newfound wealth to purchase lobbyists to obtain even more favors? Will they purchase technology to replace even more workers? Will it help coalmine owners to overcome the Obama-era rule on the amount of coal dust permitted in a coalmine, or will the people who decide these things disregard anything scientists and doctors say in this area.
How will your local hospital be impacted when Obamacare is no longer in place? Will they be permitted to turn away people without insurance, or will they absorb the costs? What would that do to the premiums of people who have insurance?
