We all should pay for public schools in Pa.
This is in response to the recent letter about working people who rent paying school taxes.
Property owners of Washington County and across this state have been held hostage to the demands of the public school system and its insatiable appetite for more and more money to support it. We need to level the playing field by making all the people who are part of the community, who work, or don’t work, rent or just choose to just live a life supported by taxpayers, pay their fair share.
It would be logical to have the public school system supported by a sales tax.
That way, each and every person will be paying. When the public is involved in supporting a public school system, you have more people noticing what’s being done and also what’s not being done.
It’s quite obvious to everyone that younger generations who are a product of the current public school system are not being taught the basics of human logic. Our society has changed, and not for better.
When you take the word “public” for instance, it means concerning people as a whole. So the public school system should, by law, concern people as a whole paying taxes to support it. Our citizens should organize and make a lot of noise to our politicians about this.
