Cartoon was offensive
I’m writing to express disagreement with the sentiment in the Friday political cartoon that depicted President Trump as a sad little clown next to Abraham Lincoln. I found it very difficult to swallow.
During Lincoln’s admninistration there was a bloody civil war over slavery. The current administration is fighting a war on terrorism. Did you think the public would laugh its head off viewing the artist’s depiction of the president as a clown? This is not how the public sees this president. We the people elected him to the presidency.
The depiction of Trump as a clown is offensive, and the Observer-Reporter showed disrespect to him, the presidency, the people who voted for him and the process that brought him to the White House.
