Bradford House needs community support
I would like to support John Tecklenberg’s Oct. 29 letter asking the community to support the Bradford House on Washington’s Main Street. This is a real historic landmark that needs to continue to tell the story of the Whiskey Rebellion that was so much a part of Washington County history. Never has community support been more needed.
As a teacher, I brought students to the Bradford House and watched their faces as they heard the story of David Bradford. Over the last 20 years or so, I have served as a board member and docent, and have watched visitors from all over the country who have come to visit and learn about the Whiskey Rebellion.
History is right here on our doorstep, but we need community support to keep it alive and active.
