How much lower can we go?
Leave it to President Trump to initiate a fight with the grieving widow of a fallen U. S. soldier, the woman whose account of a condolence call differs from that of Trump’s.
How many thoughtful Americans take the word of a man who lies about anything and everything, big and small, over that of the distraught wife of a soldier who gave his life for his country?
I suppose our “leader” is emboldened by the fact that he suffered no serious consequences when he sought to minimize the valorous and heroic service of Sen. John McCain and when he punched back after justifiable criticism from Gold Star parents Khizr and Ghazala Khan as he was openly endorsing barring all Muslims from our country.
Will there ever be a knockout blow against this president, the point at which a large majority of the American people say enough to the hatred, bitterness, divisiveness, incompetence and chaos with which our country has succumbed?
Maybe Trump was right when he said that he could shoot someone in the middle of Fifth Avenue and not have it held against him by his loyal supporters. We have set aside our decency and humanity as we have ushered in the abnormal presidency. How much lower can we go?
