LETTER Mango served country honorably

I am an entrepreneur and business owner local to Pittsburgh who employs veterans and assists them with restarting civilian life. This can be through mentoring them to start their own business or providing quality employment while they figure out their next step in life. I am writing in response to recent negative remarks made by Sen. Scott Wagner and his campaign team calling Paul Mango’s service a bunch of “fairy tale lies” and that his service was less than because he wasn’t deployed in Afghanistan.

Republican gubernatorial candidate Mango served our country humbly and honorably during the Cold War and for anyone to imply anything different disgraces that which upon we’ve built that nation.

These claims from Wagner demonstrate a profound lack of character.

Those who serve have made possible the ability for us all to be safe. Mango’s West Point education and service in the 82nd Airborne Division gives us great background on his motivation, sense of duty and humility in service.

As a member of a military family, I proudly stand with Paul Mango and know I can trust his word to be true, and that he will make decisions and take actions in our best interests.
