LETTER Library article topical, encouraging

I was encouraged by Scott Beveridge and Trista Thurston’s well-investigated Sunday article, “Not Quite So Quiet Anymore,” regarding many of the public libraries in Washington and Greene counties.

I would also like to thank in advance Bowlby Library for offering a class on researching in the digital age this Friday to our active Greene County Homeschool Group. Amber Cofield, assistant director of the literacy department, has put together a program for students to help them sift through the tremendous amount of information they encounter when researching online. We look forward to learning how to recognize the validity of what “pops up,” how to find the authorship of web articles/pages, and search online with better accuracy.

This is yet another way our libraries are helping the public study and discover.
