I find it curious that when a man of Middle Eastern origin engages in a terrorist attack, claiming to be acting on behalf of Allah, our president goes into high dudgeon, engaging in a Twitter burst in which he decries “Islamic terror,” maligns the Muslim faith in blanket condemnation, and seeks to close the borders, yanking away the welcome mat from the persecuted. But when a homegrown Caucasian monster uses a legally-obtained arsenal designed to mow down human beings in rapid succession, his actions are attributed to mental illness, and no substantive plan is put forward to limit the number of such horrors.

We know that President Trump values loyalty above all else. He and the National Rifle Association/gun manufacturers’ lobby, are devoted to each other to the detriment of those who wish to be safe from slaughter.
