LETTER We are all equally human

What has happened to humanity?

Forget racial identity, gender, religion or politics. We are all equally human. So why can’t we all act as if we have some decency?

What has happened to mutual respect, compassion and empathy? Where has true humanity gone? Countries wage war against one another over nothing but sheer greed and power. Even the United States claims we all have freedom of religion, free speech and other freedoms under the Constitution, but these rights seem to have been swept under the rug.

Prejudice is nothing more than a disguise for forms of greed, ignorance, and power. What happened to humility and compassion for those less fortunate? It’s difficult to find unless there is a catastrophic event. Greed and the thirst for power has consumed the world. That is why our children are so important to the future of our planet. Sow the right seeds with our kids, and see our world flourish.
