LETTER Reverse psychology at play on editorial page?

I absolutely howled when I read Phillip Camden’s letter to the editor (June 27). What an interesting concept: editorials that have an opposite result than their intent. Maybe he’s right. Maybe all the negative publicity is what got Donald Trump elected president. Classic sarcasm. Really, though, when is the last time an editorial really changed your views on anything? They may enlighten us a little bit, but when it comes down to it, we agree or dismiss editorials based on what we already believe, especially the political ones.

I found that particular letter to be one of the most entertaining pieces that I have ever read, and I’ll bet a lot of other readers feel the same way. Maybe we should include disclaimers that read, “For entertainment purposes only.”
