LETTER Separations at border are not Trump’s fault

The mainstream media’s hysterics over the separating of children from their parents who are bringing them across the border illegally is out of control. They are blaming President Trump as if he has mandated this.

The law that requires this was passed under President Bill Clinton, and it was done under his, President George W. Bush’s and President Barack Obama’s administrations. They went so far as to show pictures of children in cages to show how terrible Trump is when the pictures were taken when Obama was in power. I dare say that these children are living better in the detention centers than they ever have in Mexico or Central America.

The people who are bringing them into this country illegally go to jail, so do they want the children to go to jail with them? It amazes me that none of these talking heads are upset by the fact that the parents have put the children in danger by making the long, dangerous trip to come here illegally.

I am tired of them acting as though Republicans hate immigrants. We are simply against illegal immigration. The one thing that no one talks about with regard to illegal immigration is all of the identity theft that they engage in. They need Social Security numbers to work here, so they steal the number of either a temporary alien, permanent resident alien (people who have come here legally) or citizen of the United States.

It’s time that Congress passes a law requiring the E-Verify process for all employers, which will help weed out the majority of people using someone else’s Social Security number or fake ones. We need to build the wall, stop chain migration and the lottery system of immigration. We will never stop illegal immigration completely, but these things will curtail it greatly.
