Clean up the trash

In reference to the blight that has accumulated in the Tylerdale area of Washington: We, as residents, need to pick up the trash and junk in our own yards and sidewalks. Bags of trash have been left to pile up beside houses and in yards. We have trash collection; our only obligation is to carry it to the curb. For those who have a disability and are unable to carry bags to the curb, ask a neighbor or friend to lend a hand.

Starting this month, I challenge you to take action. Pick up the trash that inconsiderate people have tossed onto the ground. And let the state know how bad the litter that has accumulated at the on and off ramps to Interstate 70 looks as well.

We all can make a difference.
