LETTER A new way to govern
State Republicans have shown us the new way to govern: when you do not like an election result or a court action, pull out all the stops to negate it, being as underhanded as is necessary.
In the 18th Congressional District, Democrat Conor Lamb scored a slim, but stunning victory over Trump clone, Republican Rick Saccone. The election is now tied up in litigation as Saccone supporters assert “voting irregularities.” Their charge rings as true as the president’s assertion with no evidence that millions of illegal immigrants were bused in to vote for “Crooked Hillary.”
Now that the state Supreme Court decision to eliminate partisan gerrymandering has been upheld at the state and national levels for upcoming elections, the GOP way is to attempt to impeach the Democratic state Supreme Court justices who refused to keep a thumb on the scale for the GOP.
Let us hope that justice prevails and that the electorate punishes those who refuse to play by the rules.
