In response to Jenny Bardwell’s April 26 letter concerning gerrymandering: If we are committed to democracy, we must support laws that encourage all people to vote and assure the United States voter that their vote will count and not be manipulated by boundaries or rules to make their vote invisible or meaningless. When a political party does this, it is because of a desire for power, not because they care about the values of a working democracy.
