LETTER: Democrats need to focus on 2020
The alleged incident of “attempted rape” by Supreme Court nominee Brett Kavanaugh took place more than 30 years ago. The accuser has stated that she sought psychotherapy as a teen after the alleged incident, as well as couple’s therapy with her husband in later years. However, the accuser never pressed charges against Kavanaugh. And the timing of her letter is rather conspicuous, with the Senate Judiciary Committee poised to vote.
Speaking as a Democrat, I am embarrassed for the party. This is no way to put your best foot forward for the midterm elections. My suggestion is that Democrats ease off and focus their attention on finding a good strong candidate for the 2020 presidential election.
