LETTER: History should not be forgotten
In response to the editorial (Feb. 3) about remembering the Holocaust, recent events say all that needs to be said.
Certain groups of people have decided for us all that only events that they deem to be appropriate are to be remembered. Events and other parts of our history that they either disagree with or just don’t like are to be forgotten. All remembrances, such as statues or plaques that recognize or celebrate events they deem not worthy, must be removed. And these unworthy events have not been taught in your schools, under the guise that to do so might be offensive to certain people.
And we, the people, fearing to be disliked if we dare speak out, have quietly gone along with watching our history be destroyed by these vermin.
