LETTER: An evil genius or incompetent fool?

As I see it, it is utterly inconceivable that the voters of this nation could have been so deaf and blind not to have seen that something was horribly wrong with Donald Trump’s woeful lack of ability to be an effective and wise leader. A competent president would diligently study all matters of domestic and foreign situations, then rely upon the best and brightest agents of our intelligence services to provide accurate and trustworthy information. Apparently, this is something Trump is incapable of doing, or refuses to do, for questionable reasons.

The most recent example that demands our attention is his rejection of the intelligence community’s diligent assessments of world situations, which were formulated by in-depth research and hard intelligence gathering by professionals in each field. Each member of the intelligence community presented clear facts that refuted Trump’s bellicose statements. He then seized the opportunity to demean them, as if they were audaciously insubordinate to his own ill-conceived notions. As president, he fails to read his daily briefings on domestic and world affairs, saying he doesn’t need to do it because he is “a really smart guy.” By rejecting assessments by his own hand-picked heads of our intelligence services, one can only speculate that Trump makes decisions based on no reliable sources, except what he thinks are the facts. This is blatant mismanagement of his office, and should be clear grounds for impeachment due to incompetence, and a total disregard for clear and factual knowledge a person must employ to faithfully discharge the office of president and world leader.

Trump is a person who is mired in his own delusions, and refuses to hear the truth. It would be the most egregious crime a president could ever commit if discovery were to prove Trump has his strings pulled by agents outside of our federal government. One can only frightfully ponder what transpired in three undocumented meetings he had behind closed doors with Vladimir Putin. The Russians know perfectly well what was discussed each time. The American government has been intentionally kept in the deepest of darkness. How can anyone dismiss this as anything but sinister behavior, with dangerous implications for our national security?

It will remain my most fervent hope that the Special Counsel’s investigation will drop the heaviest of hammer on Trump, and force the hand of the Congress to evict him from the White House, putting an end to what appears to be total incompetence, and perhaps a dastardly conspiracy of inconceivable evil.
