LETTER Special-interest money has corrupted our politicians

If you ever wondered how our government works, or doesn’t work, then here are a few points to ponder in the quagmires of drama and fake news we are battered with each day by the media.

Every day you see people in the news pleading for help to acquire the insulin they desperately need to stay alive. Then the following news clip is about the people who are trying to kill themselves with illegal drugs being administered the expensive drug Narcan countless times for not one penny. We need to clear the cobwebs from the politicians’ brains and help them get on the right track to do the right and logical thing here.

In Canada and Mexico, insulin is free or little to no charge. My opinion is that some drugs in America are unaffordable for one reason. The reason is the influence that major industries have in this country to control the decision-making processes of our politicians. There is no doubt that the politicians have heard the many, many cries from the desperate victims, the needy and taxpayers over all the years but don’t react because special-interest money has the power to silence, corrupt, and stagnate.

Please excuse me for now, I have to go get my daily dose of fake news and imbecilic commercials.
