I just heard, on national television, Washington County Republican Party Chairman Dave Ball explain why Sen. Pat Toomey should be censured. Mr. Ball actually spoke these words, “We did not send him there to vote his conscience. We did not send him there to do the right thing.” Upon hearing this, a line from a popular comedy movie screamed out at me. To paraphrase, “Just when I thought you couldn’t get any dumber, you go and say something like this and totally redeem yourself.”
