LETTER: ‘Conscience is God-given’

GOP head David Ball laments Sen. Pat Toomey’s “following his conscience.” He prefers the senator do as he is told by the state and county GOP, that he be merely a stooge, a toady.

Conscience is God-given. Christians ordinarily believe that Jesus Christ is sole Lord of each man’s conscience. Mr. Ball disagrees. He sees himself as the rightful Lord of Toomey’s conscience, making himself and the Republicans who agree with him wanna-be gods.
