Gun control is needed
I received this message from my granddaughter, a student at Michigan state University, the morning after she escaped the horrible shooting at her campus: “Thoughts and prayers are appreciated, but let’s make sure something like this never happens again. I shouldn’t have to send the ‘I love you’ text to my family, thinking it could be my last. I shouldn’t have to hold my friends, thinking they could be the last faces I see. We need to vote. We need to demand gun control. Frankly, I don’t care about your guns. I care more about my life and the lives of my friends and family.
“So sure, keep the thoughts and prayers coming. But if you don’t want this to happen to your child/friend/sibling/anyone you care about, demand that change is made.”
