LETTER: Electric vehicles are costly

Electric vehicles are costly

I read where insurance companies are totaling out electric vehicles with as little as 10,000 miles on them after minor accidents because repair estimates are so high.

Insurance rates for those cars are also much higher than gas-fueled cars, running $3,000 to $4,000 per vehicle.

What is the environmental impact associated with disposal of all those batteries?

With stories like this, I don’t see electric vehicles taking over anytime soon. Apparently our liberal friends don’t understand all the issues associated with going green. Many of us saw this coming just looking at battery replacement cost.
