LETTER: We have a litter problem
We have a litter problem
We have a real problem – a disgusting and embarrassing problem – with litter along our roadsides and dumping in our creek beds. The people who are willing to do something about it deserve our gratitude and support.
These are the people who cleared litter from roadsides and ramps on March 25. These are the people who worked to clean Washington’s parks and playgrounds on April 15. These are the people who chipped in on Earth Day (April 22), and the people who will show up May 27 to clear our waterways of debris.
Some businesses and companies are behaving like good neighbors, too. For example, on Thursday a large crew of CNX employees tackled the garbage and debris along Scenic Drive and Cove Road, which wind around the No. 4 Dam in North Franklin Township. Anyone familiar with this area knows what a huge task that was.
When you drive by one of these volunteer litter crews, show some concern for their safety and slow down. And whenever you can, show them that their efforts are appreciated.
